Number 9 of my “10 Global Hellgates” blog post.
This cemetery is located in Stull, Kansas; founded in 1857 as Deer Creek. But was renamed Stull, after its only postmaster, whose name was Sylvester Stull.
Also seen in episode of “Supernatural”. Just had to put that in there; huge fan of “Supernatural”.
Legend: The legend claims that the Devil appears or did appear, in Stull twice a year: on Halloween & on the spring equinox. The cemetery is one of the gates of Hell. Also has stories of human sacrifice, occult rituals, witchcraft, satanic cults, a doorway to the underworld or hell, a “hanging tree” (where witches were put to death by local townspeople), final resting place of Satan’s child (born deformed & covered with wolf hair), rain refuses to land in the church that had a missing roof, & mores. Also the Pope refuses to fly over it.
