
In herbology this is called Bay Laurel (Laurus Nobilis). Also known as: Bay, Bayleaf, Bayleaf laurel, Laurel, Grecian laurel, True laurel, Sweet laurel, Sweet bay, Laurbær (Danish), Lor (German), Laurier (French), Yue gui (Chinese), Lárvidarlauf (Icelandic).
Medicinal Uses: stomach problem, colic, renal disease, pain remedy for thematic conditions & aliments of upper part of digestive tract, flu, bronchitis, stimulate appetite, relieve pain from migraines, compress on bruises & sprains, and druff.
Culinary Uses: spice, flavor, seasoning (for pies, soups, sauces, marinades, stews, & pickles.
Magickal Uses: the Delphic oracle used it in rituals, ward off evil & disease, mojo bags, avoid being jinxed, rid of jinxes & enemy tricks, clear away evil messes & crossed conditions, protection, psychic power, divination, success, money, & wish magic.
Other Uses: insect repellent, essential oil.
WARNING: narcotic effect. Essential Oil used with caution & only externally, but NOT by pregnant/breastfeeding women & children. When using as aromatherapy, it must be always heavily diluted (max 3%). Safe for cooking.
