NUTELLA

Small History

Pietro Ferrero owned a bakery in Alba, an Italian town known for the production of hazelnuts. In 1946, he sold the initial 300 kilograms (660 lb) batch of Pasta Gianduja. Originally sold as a solid block, Ferrero started to sell a creamy version in 1951 as Supercrema.[5]

In 1963, Ferrero’s son Michele Ferrero revamped Supercrema with the intention of marketing it throughout Europe. Its composition was modified, and it was renamed “Nutella”. The first jar of Nutella left the factory in Alba on April 20, 1964. The product was an instant success and remains widely popular. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nutella)

2019, Nutella became 55 years old.

Quality Defect Causes Shut Down of The World’s  Biggest Nutella Factory In France

A quality issue causes the makers of Nutella (an extremely popular hazelnut chocolate spread) to shut down their biggest factory in France. Production at the factory in Villers-Ecalles, France, was halted earlier this week after a “quality defect” was detected in semi-finished products, as reported by CNN. But none of the Nutella products that had been on store shelves was affected by the problem and that the supply of Nutella to customers continued uninterrupted.

Nutella was created after World War II, when a cocoa shortage in Italy required pastry makers to get creative.

Chef Pietro Ferrero, created the spread using hazelnuts, sugar and a bit of cocoa.

Since then the spread has been extremely popular across the world.

Over a year ago, there was a near-riot in supermarkets in France after a French grocery chain discounted Nutella by 70 per cent.

In November 2017, Nutella fans outraged on social media after word got out that the recipe for the spread had been changed.

 Who doesn’t love Nutella?

Here’s Why Using Organic Skin Care Matters, According To A Licensed Esthetician

Photo by Gantas Vaičiulėnas on Pexels.com

You have your Dirty Dozen list saved for easy access mid-grocery store trip (because you can never remember if it’s spinach or cabbage that’s better to buy organic), but when it comes to skin care, things aren’t so clear-cut.

Despite the absence of a similarly streamlined infographic for organic skin care ingredients, there is a simple premise to keep in mind next time you’re about to toss a new beauty product into your cart next to your organic apples.

“It’s the same idea as buying organic ingredients that we ingest orally,” says Christine Walsh, lead esthetician and makeup artist at Dermstore. “If we aren’t willing to consume the toxins, then there’s no need to apply them topically with all the effective resources we have in skin care and beauty.”

To get to the bottom of how important using organic skin care really is, we joined forces with Dermstore, the online destination for holy-grail skin boosters since 1999, and tapped a glow pro to lay out all the benefits. Here goes.

3 benefits of using organic skin care for your head-to-toe routine:

1.) You’ll lessen your overall chemical load

“Although there is controversy about whether or not the penetration of products can travel all the way into the bloodstream, our skin, the largest organ on our body, is still absorbing anything that we apply  topically,” Walsh explains. In fact, it’s been established that 60 percent or more of topicals are absorbed by the skin, according to Walsh, so you want to make sure you’re only letting the good stuff in.

Therefore, the same rule applies to selecting skin care ingredients as when you’re weighing whether to spring for organic avocados this week. “Since organic products are made up of all-natural, organic ingredients, the list would be nearly the same as the famous Clean 15,” Walsh says. The more you know.

If you’re not ready for a total organic overhaul of your skin-care routine, Walsh suggests first swapping out products that you put on areas of your face where the skin is thinner—such as your eyes, mouth, and forehead—because those areas often absorb products more quickly. Just think about how often you lick your lips throughout the day (likely answer: every few minutes).

2.) Organic products are just as effective

Natural products have historically had a bad reputation for not working as well as their drugstore counterparts—but no more. “These days, organic products can provide desired results with the advanced technology we have to produce high quality effective skin care,” Walsh says. Basically, you can have your (organic) cake, and eat it, too.

Take Eminence Organic Skin Care, for example. The sustainable beauty company has been working since 1958 to incorporate organic skin-care breakthroughs into its products—like deriving salicylic acid from organic strawberries and hyaluronic acid from organic marshmallow root to create the do-it-all Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum that exfoliates, hydrates, repairs and brightens. How’s that for a list of benefits?

3.) Organic farming is better for the environment

As if scoring mirror-don’t-lie benefits for your skin wasn’t enough of a reason to make the switch to organic skin care, you’re also doing the planet a major solid. “Organic is better for the environment, and companies often use recycled goods for their packaging—a win for preserving our mother earth,” Walsh says.

And when shopping on Dermstore for brands like Eminence Organics, you can count on your purchase coming with other perks that apply to more than just your complexion.

“Eminence Organics not only provides result-driven skin care that smells and feels luxurious on the skin, they believe in well-being that goes beyond our skin,” Walsh says. The Eminence Kids Foundation donates organic fruits and vegetables to sick children around the world, and Eminence Organics plants a tree for every skin care product sold—which works out to more than 11 million trees to date. That’s a win-win scenario.

Lecture & Textbook Note-taking

QUESTION: How do I take notes during a lecture? How do I take notes from a textbook?

Well I don’t know how you take notes, but this is how I take notes. I use the Cornell Note-Taking system, but i do not add a summary to any of my notes.

Here is the system: Cornell Notes

Now lets go over some tips:

Before lecture have your system ready to take notes, have at least 8 sheets or more of paper

Lecture:

1.) Date at top of paper

2.) Name of Class

3.) Main topic title in the middle

4.) Subtopic titles on the side

5.) Use new paragraph for each concept

6.) Put examples & boxes towards middle of page

7.) Use cloud-like boxes for information that isn’t from textbook and more professor’s or your thoughts

8.) Don’t draw out diagrams, instead note the page of where it is taken from and write it in later. Make sure to leave space.

9.) Use different color pen for key word

10.) Use abbreviations whenever/wherever possible

Textbook Note-Taking

1.) Use some of the above tips in your textbook note-taking system

2.) Highlight & underline book as read it before notes. Things that your believe is important. Make sure to check syllabus for information you might want to highlight or underline.

3.) Divide al chapters and paragraphs into smaller easier to understand summaries.

4.) Use short sentences

5.) Use bullet points

6.) Highlight major key points

7.) Use sticky notes to incorporate lecture notes into your notes

8.) Use sticky notes to incorporate any additional notes from other sources (that is not from lecture or textbook).

9.) Add charts, tables, & examples into notes.

Additional Tips:

1.) Its okay to rewrite notes, which can also help to remember information.

2.) Highlight first & then write on top of highlight.

3.) Use different color sticky notes to add information missed during notes.

Shared Traits of Social Media Obsessives & Compulsive Gamers

There are several traits that both social media obsessives and compulsive gamers share, which are similar to the traits that is shared to traits of addictions to food, drugs, alcohol, gambling, and more.

“As with alcohol, drugs, processed food and gambling, electronic media consumption is subject to the principle of hormesis—or more simply, “stimulation.” Stimulants often provide beneficial effects at low doses, harmful ones at high doses. Consumption runs along a spectrum from occasional, beneficial use to relieve boredom and boost morale—the digital equivalent of a coffee break—to heavy, escapist use that harms self and others. Clinicians differ over whether to call the latter condition internet addiction, internet addiction disorder, internet use disorder, pathological internet use disorder, or something else entirely. They do, however, discern a common denominator. The heaviest users are those who have come to strongly prefer recreational life online as a way of tuning out IRL (in real life) hassles. ” (1)

However, video games keep us entertained and minds off of any stress; while social media keeps us in the know of what’s going on and to be more sociable. So play video games! Use social media!

The Perfect Side Hustle For Each Zodiac Sign

All you need is a little creativity, drive, and spare time.

Everybody needs to have a side hustle these days because we can all use a little extra cash. But what side hustle should you chose.

These are a few based on your zodiac sign (but beware that these are only suggestions & you do not have to choose any of them):

ARIES: Focus grouping

Aries love trying new things and meeting new people, so why not combine both? There are tons of focus groups where you are paid for your opinions. Sometimes you have to watch a TV show pilot, taste a new food product, or discuss your travel habits.

Most of the time, these focus group sessions are only an hour or two and you’re paid for your time. Aries may be able to supplement their income very nicely by doing at least two focus groups a month.

TAURUS: Virtual assistant service

Taurus love being at home and not having to be in uncomfortable business clothing, so working as a virtual assistant is the perfect gig for them. A virtual assistant provides administrative support to clients from their home office.

Taurus can make their own hours, work when and if they want to, and work in the beautiful atmosphere of their own home. And bonus: no commute.

GEMINI: Podcaster

We already know that Geminis kill it at communicating with others, so what could be a better fit than podcasting? They don’t need a studio, they can record it at their own home with their own fairly inexpensive equipment, talk about the things that are important to them, and get their own sponsors.

If the podcast is popular and you know it will be, who knows what it could lead to — books, TV shows, or a media empire?

CANCER: Airbnb host

One of the things about Cancers is that they’re very house-proud and they always make sure that anyone visiting feels comfortable. So turning their extra bedroom or guest house into a rental makes perfect sense.

Not only would Cancer meet people from around the world without having to travel, but their hosting profits could also cover their rent or mortgage. Sure, they’d have to keep their house clean, but they do that anyway.

LEO: Reality show participant

Why let that vibrant Leo personality go to waste when you can be on a reality show and make money from it? Yes, having cameras around all the time is invasive and you may have to fight for air time, but you know how to captivate an audience.

Why not make some money just being fabulous you? If you’re on a reality show, it will help your brand and get you into the public eye.

VIRGO: Professional organizer

Virgos like things in their place, dislike clutter, and have a very organized mind, so being a professional organizer would be a great side hustle for them.

While someone’s disorganization might initially cause Virgo some anxiety, the sense of fulfillment and satisfaction a Virgo will get from a completed job will be well worth it.

LIBRA: YouTube tutorials

Libras have a vast amount of knowledge and charm, which is what you need to attract viewers and keep them. It may take time to build up an audience, but regular video posting and a great social media presence will help.

Once channel owners have a following, they may get paid to host advertising on their videos. With enough viewers, this revenue sharing program can really pay off.

SCORPIO: Voice-over acting

Doing voices for commercials or animation is highly profitable, and these days you don’t have to leave the house to do it. Many voiceover artists have turned their spare closets into recording studios and they just record things with their phones.

Voiceover would appeal to Scorpio because it would allow them to keep their anonymity while allowing them to perform. Scorpios are focused, self-driven, and creative enough to be a fantastic voiceover artist.

SAGITTARIUS: Tour guide

Sagittarians love to travel, meet new people, and learn new things. If they’re a travel guide around their own city, they’d discover things they didn’t know; if they were a guide for a big in a foreign city, it could help to subsidize their travel costs.

They probably wouldn’t need to purchase any expensive equipment — all they’d need is their already vast travel knowledge and the energy to lead a group of people.

CAPRICORN: SAT/LSAT tutor

Capricorns genuinely want to help others, and being a tutor in their spare time would be an excellent way to do this. They could work as much or little as they want, schedule tutoring times based on their own schedule, and be inspired by those they tutor.

Tutoring can be extremely lucrative, and since Capricorns are extremely financially responsible, this would be another way they could build up their bank account without having to risk anything.

AQUARIUS: App inventor

Aquarians are gifted with creative and innovative minds and love all the new technology, so inventing apps would be a great way for them to earn money and keep the creative juices

flowing. It’s not as if they didn’t think about creating new apps all the time anyway.

Besides, there’s a good chance that Aquarius already knows someone who could hook them up, help them get investors and facilitate getting the app on the market.

PISCES: Senior citizen art teacher

Pisces tend to be extremely patient, have an abundance of artistic talent, and are very kind. Helping people to express themselves creatively would give Pisces joy and it would inspire their own creativity.

Since Pisces are sensitive and intuitive, it’s not unlikely that their students would grow to trust them, and some of the classes would end up being very healing and therapeutic.

MANIFESTATION WORKS

According to the ‘Hustle Culture’ we believe that the only way to succeed is through sacrificing not only sleep but any sense of self-care, balance, enjoyment or wellbeing. However, what is there was a way to achieve more success and faster growth in your career and life whilst thriving and maintaining a sense of fulfilment, mental wellbeing and fun.

Manifestation may sound a little airy-fairy, or passive for action-orientated personalities like myself, but I can assure you that taking massive and inspired action is a fundamental part of the manifestation process. There are many different definitions of manifestation, but put simply it is the practice of using techniques to activate the subconscious mind and help you actualize the life that you  truly desire.

The important thing to understand about manifestation is that it’s a process, and there’s a formula to it. Its  formula involves unlocking your limiting beliefs and redefining success to bring your life into alignment and expand your parameters of what is actually possible. It’s not limited to success in any part of your life, manifestation is also a tool to help  you  level up as well. And can be  a tool what has accelerated your growth.

Here are some tips that can help you to bring your dreams into fruition, while managing your well-being:

1.)  Self-care: Take care of your self.

2.) Unlock Beliefs Holding You Back: create a new belief system around success.

3.) Level-Up Your Story Telling: use new and empowering stories that will help you magnetize more success and abundance into your life and work.

4.) Pay Attention to Your Words: Words are extremely powerful, so chose wisely.

5.)Use present tense: You want to write as if you already have what you want.

6.) Create a Vision Board: Make sure it  truly aligns with you, your beliefs, and your definition of success.Use images from pinterest, online, magazines; any quotes you like; any words you wish. Put everything in the order you want them to go in. Put the vision board where you can see it everyday.

EARTH IS NOT A GARBAGE CAN

How do you feel about the planet that you live on? Your Home planet? Do you wish to save it?

If so, lets start with 5 steps:

1.) Garbage everywhere. And I mean everywhere: in landfills, in the sea, in orbit around the planet, on the ground when you walk down the street. Instead, use it for something. There is a program called: “waste-to-energy” and “zero waste” policies, in several cities and countries: Sweden, San Francisco, Buenos Aires, Capanrori in Italy, and New York. The “waste-to-energy” is basically taking the garbage and turning it into energy. “Zero Waste: The conservation of all resources by means of responsible production, consumption, reuse, and recovery of all products, packaging, and materials, without burning them, and without discharges to land, water, or air that threaten the environment or human health.” (see source number 1)

2.) Destruction of Trees. Destroying trees, also destroys the plants and animals that live in them. Trees give off oxygen, which in case you missed it we NEED to breathe. But trees also absorb carbon dioxide that we exhale and they absorb heat-trapping greenhouse gases that our activities emit.

3.) Create and develop new technologies that can save energy and the environment, but are also be sustainable.

4.) Give back what you take. For example, lets go back to number 2 , it your going to cut down trees, then replant 5 to 10 trees in its place.

5.) Respect and Honor Mother Nature (the Earth, Gaia, or whatever you call her.). Several ancient civilizations worshiped Nature and even today there are people who still worship nature. Even if you don’t worship Nature, you can still respect her.

Excalibur And Other Swords Supposedly Found

I love swords.

So check this out.

While excavating a castle, in the city of Banja Luka, archaeologists in Bosnia, discovered a 700-year-old sword 36 feet underwater and stuck in a rock in the Vrbas River. The sword is being described as a “real-life Excalibur.”

However, I don’t believe that it is Excalibur.

There are several reasons for this:

1.) Its rusted. Excalibur is said to be magical and suppose to have been forged by a god.

2.) It was find in a stone.m According to legend, Sir Bedivere, a Knight of the Round Table threw it back into the lake and The Lady of the Lake took it back.

Here are some other sword discoveries:

In 2017, a British girl swimming at Dozmary Pool, discovered  a shiny, 4-foot sword, which is thought to be a movie prop.

Also in 2017. in southern Norway a Viking sword was discovered by a reindeer hunter in the mountains.

Earlier of 2019, workers were digging to build a  sewer in Aalborg, Denmak discoverd a sword that could date to the 14th century.
